Red Tail Rear
Is this fish a member of the tetra family ?
i lost 1 of 2 very big nice fish the other day, trouble is i've had them so long i forgot their name.
has a black stripe all the way down the middle
has a red patch above this from lips to about 3/4 along back
has two stripes black/yellowy-orange on very tipS of rear tail
has a red top fin
if anyone could name it, or even provide a link to a pic of it i'd be very grateful
TIA...
You most likely have a denison's barb (aka roseline shark). A very gorgeous animal, and sometimes quite rare to find in a petshop. Although, they're becoming more and more common as people are catching on to them. See, that crisp red.... it doesn't fade. In fact, if anything, it gets better with age and proper care. Seriously. And they look ab-fab in a planted tank.
I'm put LiveAquaria's link in the source box below. Hope this helps you out.
